A preserved region with rich and varied natural areas, the Ardèche is particularly well suited to discovery by bicycle. Its territory is covered by numerous gentle roads allowing the practice of cycling tourism with the family.
Take advantage of the mild climate of the Ardèche to organize your bike tours : itinerant vacations, simple rides or day tours, all possibilities are available to you depending on whether you are very sporty, accompanied by young children or followers of slow life.
The Ardèche relief is also a privileged adventure ground for amateur or experienced mountain bikers.
Numerous loops of different levels run through the Ardèche mountains, connecting the most emblematic sites on forest tracks and narrow paths.
A land of wide open spaces, the Ardèche offers cyclists a preserved environment and wild landscapes that are constantly renewed, between forests and mountains, picturesque villages, restful lakes, garrigues and sublime gorges.

The best bike tours in Ardèche

The great crossing of the Ardèche by mountain bike: with a total length of 315 km, this mountain bike circuit crosses the Ardèche from north to south and can be done in sections, from Annonay to Les Estables, from Les Estables to Les Vans, and from Les Vans to Bourg-Saint-Andéol.

The Via Ardeche: a greenway built on an old railway line, which takes viaducts and tunnels between Vogüé and Grospierres, passing through Balazuc and Ruoms.
The Via Ardeche can also be reached by soft way from Vallon-Pont-d’Arc.
The Ibie valley mountain bike circuit: a circuit of a little more than 19 km starting from Vallon-Pont-d’Arc, along the valley and around the village of Lagorce.
Bike tour in the Païolive wood : a 15 km mountain bike circuit on the balconies of the Chassezac and on the forest paths of the Païolive wood, ideal to discover the typical landscapes of southern Ardèche with your family.
The Ardeche gorges and medieval villages: a circuit for road bike lovers including the villages of Aubenas, Vogüé, Balazuc, Ruoms, Vallon-Pont-d’Arc and Rochecolombe.
The must: the panoramic road of the Ardeche gorges and a passage by the belvedere of Serre de Tourre.

The road bike or electric bike

The Ardèche is an ideal department for cyclists thanks to its different reliefs. Every year, we welcome the Ardéchoise, an unmissable cycling event. This race can be done over 1,2,3 or 4 days, it goes from 85 to 630 km. With the circuit “On the Roads of the Ardéchoise: La Méridionale”, you will pass through our village Les Vans.
