Cycling in the Ardèche

An unspoilt region with a rich variety of natural areas, theArdèche is ideal for exploring by bike. The region is criss-crossed by a number of “voies douces” (gentle paths) that are ideal for family cycling tours. Take advantage of the Ardèche’s mild climate to organize your visits by bike: whether you’re looking for a touring vacation, a simple stroll or a day trip, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re very sporty, have young children or are a slow-lifter. The relief of the Ardèche is also an ideal adventure terrain for amateur or experienced mountain bikers. Numerous loops of varying levels criss-cross the Ardèche mountains, linking the most emblematic sites on forest tracks and narrow paths. A land of wide-open spaces, the Ardèche offers cyclists an unspoilt environment and ever-changing wild landscapes, between forests and mountains, picturesque villages, restful lakes, garrigues and sublime gorges.

The road bike or electric bike

The Ardèche is an ideal department for cyclists, thanks to its varied terrain. Every year, we host the Ardéchoise, a not-to-be-missed cycling event. This race can be run over 1, 2, 3 or 4 days, and ranges from 85 to 630 km. With the “Sur les Routes de l’Ardéchoise: La Méridionale” circuit, you’ll pass through our village of Les Vans.
