The Chassezac Gorges, near the campsite Ardeche
The River Chassezac starts in the Lozere Department, flows through the Gard Departement before entering the Ardeche department, and joining the river Ardeche near St Alban Auriolles.
The Chassezac Gorges is a starting point for hiking, especially to the Paiolive woods, where you find roundtrips along the trails (the Corniche tour, the Vierge tour, and St. Eugene hermitage tour). On the way, you will encounter surprising shaped rocks such as The Bear and the Lion.
You may enjoy swimming in the river, fishing but also canoe – kayak descents.
The campsite is ideally located to relax near the river and enjoy the singing cicadas.
